The Antelope Valley is facing its most serious water challenges in many years caused by drought and water cutbacks from the State Water Project. In addition, no-growth organizations have seized on this temporary water shortage as a political tool to try and stop future development. Finally, I am concerned about the actions of outside predatory water speculators who are seeking to hijack local water agencies as profit-making vehicles for a small group of investors-to the detriment of residents and businesses.

I offer the experience and proven leadership to protect our local water rights, expand our supplies and services, and meet the future water needs of our growing region.

As a past director for the Antelope Valley East Kern Water Agency I have significantly improved our water recharge and reuse capabilities to stretch existing supplies. In addition, I have been successful in obtaining new allocation of State Project Water, made innovative supplemental water contracts, and emergency, "dry year" water. I would like to continue and expand these innovative programs. I'm also dedicated to creating a common sense REGIONAL WATER PLAN. A unified approach involving water agencies, local governments, agriculture and the business community is vital in order for the Antelope Valley to secure our fair share of water from the State Water Project
